Complaints, Assumptions … Whining Cha Cha CHA

Article, about  Guild Wars 2, and is similar to this article really.. its like get to the point already !
Important thing to know about me, I won’t comment or make Assumptions on things I do not know about in general. Once in a while I make a mistake because I am not perfect. If I make a comment it is because I have a question, or feel passionate about a topic. For instance if I look at an apple and say oh that’s the best apple ever, then you look at the apple and say this apple sucks.. I just don’t care. LOL, it is opinion based. I may not agree but that’s okay I feel differences in people make life more interesting.

That is your opinion I respect that. I won’t sit here saying oh everyone can see that is the most beautiful apple ever. Or say why would you complain about that apple or make assumptions without tasting it.
For me that is not my job in life, to correct others, maybe the apple does look crappy to someone else, how do I know I’m not looking through their eyes. Maybe they have an affliction to apples or whatever the topic may be.

If I taste the apple and it tastes DELICIOUS I will tell the world my findings. Your welcome to give your opinion, but when you start trying to correct me or insult me the gloves are coming off and not a battle most would like to get into with me because I am like a junk yard dog that will never back down.
Only two ways I will back down, 1 – fights just not worth fighting, or hurtful to someone, two – or I will admit I’m wrong. When its TWO it feels like POO to me, that’s why I rarely will comment on things I know nothing about. Because it would not be fair to those around me, and to be honest that is how misinformation is spread. I also will NEVER EVER sacrifice by beliefs to be part of .. ”the in crowd” or any ”group” or ”organization” or to further my self financially.
I treat my every day life in the same manner as I do my internet interests and gaming.

Never back down in something I believe in or frustrated about. It is against my moral fiber. I would have been an awesome public defender, some day if I still have time in life I may just may re- pursue a law degree. I have never been about the buck but have always felt disappointed there are people who cannot find protection because they don’t have enough money.
I am willing to debate on things in a professional (maybe a times a tad cynical) non personal way. If you have sold me a product or a service and I am not happy with it I will make it known.

It is not personal, just I’m not going to accept goods or services I paid for with hard-earned dollars and not get back the service or product I agreed on when purchased ..it is that simple.

Friend or Foe or relative, I treat all the same when comes to this. This topic came to me when some one I hold in a positive light decided to correct me on a topic I feel pretty strongly about. Also worthy topic to blog about.
When things go down like that,I don’t care if Jesus himself tells me I’m wrong when I know I am right. If I feel my comments are truth I won’t back down.

Now to the Guild Wars Chat –

I especially will comment on Guild Wars 2 because I spent 4 years playing the game and constantly had promise after promise dangled in front of me on fixing the mist. Prior to playing  Guild Wars 2, I played Guild Wars 1 from release date and owned and bought every piece of content they made.
So Guild Wars you can say was a hobby of mine, for 1st two years of the guild wars 2 game I spent at very minimum 20 hours a week, some weeks 40 to 60 hours playing. All played 90% in world v world area.

I am by no means any drop off the apple cart Guild Wars noob. (notice the 🙂 tie in) You can say overly passionate about World v World types of games ( player vs player ).
Guild Wars 2 pretty much broke my will and passion for world versus world games, the disappointment is so strong I have not been able to even log in for 4 months. I just was an accumulative let down that just piled up until could take no more.

Pretty much have relegated myself to single player games like GTA, Skyrim, games like that because they are what they are. Those companies and developers are not dangling fantasy misleading promises over my head to keep me playing. I liken the comparison to teasing a dog over and over with a strip of bacon and never giving it to them. After awhile the dog will smarten up and either not respond, or bite the hand.

Guild Wars 2 continually make these boastful announcements that: ” we listened to the players and blah .. ”  guess what? not once did you listen to any of the huge guilds I was in nor listen to me despite commenting on forums and your YouTube channel over and over. I still hope they will hear me at some point but it is too late now really. Almost all the people I played with that were truly top-notch world versus world players are gone.
Complaints, grievances, opinions, maybe. Fine line between those and actual facts at times.

I put enough time into Guild Wars one and Guild Wars two, to comment in a factual manner.

Mostly disappointed with the amazing potential for World versus World play never achieved.

What could have been ……    squandered.   hammer

Games to Get Excited About: No Man’s Sky

great article! please check out their blog http://realwomenofgaming.com/

Real Women of Gaming

Guest Post By: Michael Wells

Happy April and welcome to this month’s edition of Games to Get Excited About! This month we’re taking a look at No Man’s Sky.

No Man’s Sky is a game you may have been hearing about for a while. The game is the brainchild of Sean Murray, formerly of the Burnout series, and was unveiled by developer Hello Games and publisher Sony back at E3 2014. The game generated a lot of buzz for its popping visual style and promise of seamless gameplay. A particular standout for me was the part near the end of the trailer where the player hops in their spaceship on the surface of one world, then flies into space and down towards the surface of a neighboring planet with nary a loading screen in sight. With a heavy emphasis on freedom and exploration the game made a positive first…

Half of the VR titles I am most eager to try are not games

great article by http://discordianblis.com check out the site.

discordian bliss

While a look at the SteamVR Game titles coming in 2016 seems quite promising, the coolest things I’ve seen demonstrated over the last year weren’t traditional games at all – but rather “experiences”. That’s not to say there aren’t some really great games coming to VR, because there are, but while game developers tackle bringing current gen game themes to VR space, others are turning heads with original content so immersive and mind-blowing it challenges how we define a VR title.

Let’s start at the top – of the world, that is. Take Sólfar and RVX’s “Everest VR” teaser as a perfect example of a non-game VR experience, despite being built with one of the most powerful gaming engines.

Another room-scale VR experience that captured a lot of attention at recent road shows was Wevr’s “theBlu: Encounter” , which simulates a deep ocean shipwreck and a profound meeting with wildlife there. Here…

gUILD wARS 2 : End of a Era

Warning this article may be bad for your Health. This is an editorial. I have nothing against Colin or Mike or any other dev, but gaming is my passion and I have an opinion, your welcome to agree or disagree in your comments below.

I wish both more continued success and gave thanks by buying and supporting GW1, GW2 products.

I’m Mike O’Brien, here with GW2 dev team. AMA!< — Developer .Guildwars2 Mike-OBrien-ArenaNet Hi Reddit,I’m here today to answer some questions and to share some news. The news is that I’m taking over as the game director of Guild Wars 2 for a while. Colin will be leaving us. Colin is a personal friend, leaving on good terms, and I wish him all the best.

How about lead off with ..as always thank the fans of this game for paying our salaries but supporting the products we make? Instead..

”Colin is leaving to be closer to home”, should read like .. ”we can no longer afford to give Colin raises or  we are making so much money Colin who had been lead for years can work from home.”

The fact is Heart of Thorns is a was a huge let down for myself and thousands of other guild wars 2 fans. The amount of mistakes and errors made could be written on a scroll that could reach from NYC to London.

**Unwritten facts,  since 1st 6 month mark of guild wars2 the world pvp population of guild wars has hemorrhaged. Mass amounts of enormous guilds quit and left, I constantly told them how to fix the issues on their youtube page and other places and they continually ignored pvpers and churned out what I call fluff. (band aids and graphical extras to ignore the real issues)

**They will tell you that is not accurate, because they have inaccurate sales totals that don’t include players buying 2 and 3 accounts during the $10 base game sales around the 1 year marker.

** Server Transfer should have been disallowed without a FULL RE ROLL. The fact is they allowed huge guilds to Jockey from server to server providing them a ”crutch” to protect their precious win loss records. Which allows many of them to post unlimited garble on their front pages.

Great example : (from their web page) -PRX  http://www.prx-guild.com  (the-professionals) Prior to Archeage, in Guild Wars 2, we earned a record of 72 wins and 4 losses.  55 wins were in Tier 1 and we never finished in 3rd place.  We were a member of the most dominant alliance in GW2’s history, The Titan Alliance, and went 30-0.  [PRX] helped lead four servers in both the NA and EU brackets to world’s best.  We battled on the fields of the Henge of Denravi to Sea of Sorrows, across the Atlantic to dethrone Vizunah Square three times and then joined with a resurgent Jade Quarry to once again become world’s best.

I’m singling them out but there not the only guild to do this, just one of most well known (foe/ ruination and host of others did the same bragging, all while leaving torn server communities in their wake and not giving a rats ass while doing it). Fact is they tucked their tails and ran off ”Henge of Denravi” rather then fight. Their precious alliance broke apart so they quit the server to position themselves on another server just so they could make claims like the above. Zero Honor in that for me, it is the act of pixel cowards and not a good light to be in. Almost similar to long time US corporations pulling up and leaving for foreign lands, after using the communities and resources up.

Guild Wars 2 sat by allowing server merry go round.  Also Vizunah Square is a server made up of small guilds with very little NA time zone coverage, so big deal your big powerful triumphant pixel guild did a great job over taking NPC’S so you could make hollow claims of victory over far superior players. All in the name of E ego. Big Deal!

Why post all this in Colin sad departure? Because there issues that where never addressed or fixed in the tenure of his overwatch of the game. So many huge problems that could have been fixed to make Guild Wars 2 the worlds greatest PVP game, instead what do they do????? they add more and more FLUFF.

Under his watch… we give you…

Edge of the Mists compared to other World versus World maps.

  • Progress made in the Edge of the Mists does not count toward the Mist War score.
  • Different Match Up, Timing, Scoring and User Interface.
  • New features: Landmarks and Destructible bridges.
  • No Bloodlust or Ruins of Power.
  • Victory in the Edge of the Mists is awarded to the team with the highest score at the end of each match and rewards them with a supply drop in their citadel in the Borderlands map during the next match

Built fluffy (their is that fluffy word again) place for PVERS to run around and base trade so they can brag about there meaningless  over inflated PVP rank gained by farming low levels and NPC’S.

I knew at that point Edge of Mist came out the game was finished. Rather then fix the issues in the core Mist battleground they threw more FLUFF and spreading already thinned out pvp population furthering the PVE merry-go-round in the PVP zones.

”years he’s given to the Guild Wars franchise” , Guild Wars franchise gave him a career as well as a spotlight as well. Reason why he is leaving, I would bet my wallet on is this company is making cuts which they are notorious for doing in the past. Guild Wars last xpack was also not the cash cow they expected it to be and failed horribly in many ways, and spread the community even more.

Personally disappointed with Guild Wars 2 world pvp, at launch had amazing potential and continually worn away by poor dev decision-making, and Colin was part of that decision making. Poor job on heart of thorns adding more fluff instead of adding more intelligent fixes to bring the game to the PVP for-front that it had the potential for.

”Had potential to be the greatest mmo ever pvp- wise, fantastic look and feel and outstanding combat system.”

– and squandered the opportunity. Sad-face.
